A giant in the Clawhammer tradition.Devoted to Appalachian tradition in fiddle and banjo music.He teaches Clawhammer and has plenty of material on record and in print.
My early banjo days were dominated by Dwight and his music.Much of it is traditional and fairly straightforward.
You can downloads loads of tab(although Dwight frowned on tab) and hear extracts on You Tube.
I bought several "tapes" and a VHS video and learnt quite a lot from his teaching.
The drawback with Dwight is that he is a "purist" and is very derogatory about any banjo outside of Appalachian and traditional mountain music.This site would probably anger and provoke him.Nevertheless,if you want the basics of Clawhammer and a feel for Old Time and Mountain banjo then look no further. Soak up some Dwight.
