An amazing period of musical change that bore witness to Jazz, Bigband,Bebop and Skat.

Wartime brought its own brand of music and artists who emerged from the Dance Halls and Theatres to record their music for a revolutionary music buying public.

Styles ranged from Vera Lynn with "White Cliffs of Dover" and "We'll meet again" to Lili Marleen, Glen Miller and the Andrews Sisters. The Glen Miller sound was a worldwide sensation and he had a string of "hit" records.

The 50's brought the Blues with Ray Charles and many other artists. Fats Domino and friends brought Boogie-Woogie which, like Skiffle, was to influence the new sound ......ROCK AND ROLL.

Remarkably, Folk music was also having a revival. a very interesting period.
