You can't mention this period without reference to the "Roaring Twenties", Flappers and "The Charleston".It was a wild period embracing Prohibition , The Wall Street Crash and The Great depression. Suffragettes  earned women the right to vote and Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris.

World War two breaks out, but in pubs and theatres people were happily singing about April Showers and Carolina in the Morning.
